Luke

This is a note from Trish from LWB. She has assisted us with placing the donations where the babies could benefit the most at the Anhui Cleft Healing Home. Be sure to check in on our blog with updates on our sweet Anhui babes!

Wonderful Shanna—I am thrilled that you are happy with the sponsorship of these three precious babies at ACHH. Ainsley, Luke, and Aiden all arrived at ACHH in October. Their first updates will be emailed to you around the 20th of November. I have attached a photo of each of them for you here—hope you enjoy! Let me tell you just a little bit about each of them here, so you can get to know them! First, our little Luke: You will notice that he was recently in the hospital. He came to us in a very weak, sickened state and had to be taken immediately to the hospital and had been in ICU since October 20th for breathing difficulty. He was diagnosed with severe pneumonia and has since been receiving antibiotics, oxygen, and tube feedings. I am happy to report that he was discharged back to our home this past Wednesday and is doing very well. He is back to feeding by mouth and is beginning to gain weight! We are so happy he got to our home when he did, so we could get him the care he needed to survive!
Ainsley: This little girl is about 6 weeks old now and is from Chuzhou, the same SWI as your son! She was about 7 pounds on arrival to ACHH and is settling in nicely.
Aiden: This little boy is about 3.5 months old and is growing steadily in our home and receiving that individualized care and attention that he needs and deserves!
Hope you enjoy the updates and photos of each of these babies. Your donation will provide for the care of these babies over the next 6 months and we thank you so much for your generosity! I too wish this cleft home would have been available for our Hefei, Anhui little girl when she was there, in fact, ACHH had just opened the exact same month we adopted her in March 2008! So glad we now have this home available for these frail babies and that they now have a hope for a bright future! Now, we have two cleft homes in China and hopefully a third one is in the works!! Thank you again Shanna and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
In Hope,

Xuan from Henan...

Remember little Xuan? This is him before he received his life saving heart surgery.....

This is Xuan now.....

It is amazing what can happen when we all get together for a Halloween party (of all things!). Because of the generous donations from friends and family, last year's party was a success..... a little boy in China is living proof of that. Over $1000. was raised toward his heart surgery which he underwent immediately. Love Without Boundaries was trilled to report how remarkable of a recover he made. Xuan is now enjoying a healthy life with his caring foster family.

This year's Haunt with a Heart party we will be raising money for the Anhui Cleft Healing Home !! This is very near and dear to our hearts. As most of you know, three years ago this month, we adopted our sweet Kai from Anhui, China. Kai was born with a cleft lip and palate. When he was 4 months old, he was sent to a hospital where he spent 8 weeks recovering from his lip closure surgery. Hospitals in China are not at all like the hospitals we know in the U.S.. Imagine what it must have been like for a 4 month old baby left for 8 weeks to recover from painful surgery, without the comforting touch of a mother or nanny. Most children are left alone, bound to a bed to recover until the orphanage can come for them. That. Breaks. My. Heart.

Love Without Boundaries recently opened the first of its kind, cleft healing home! It also happens to be in Anhui. If only they had opened it a few years ago.... Kai would have had top notch surgical care and countless volunteers to hold, rock, and comfort him through his recovery. This is the level of care that all children deserve. Please partner with us and Love Without Boundaries again this year to help make life a little brighter for the many cleft affected orphans of China!

It's that time again!!

We are so thrilled to start planning our 2nd annual Halloween party for charity! Because of Love Without Boundaries, our precious Kai was able to have his cleft lip repaired while waiting for us in China. We are forever grateful to LWB and hope that in some small way, we can give another deserving child a chance for a brighter future. More specifics to come!!

There are over a million orphaned children in China who will never know the love of a forever family. Many of these children live with medical special needs, such as heart defect or cleft palate. Only two percent of orphans in China will ever find a family. Those born with special needs face an even more uncertain future. There is a special 18-month-old boy in Henan province in desperate need of heart surgery. Please partner with the Brown’s and
LOVE Without Boundaries.com to fund the surgery this deserving child needs. All donations are tax deductible.

Warning….if you refuse this invitation
Something awful may happen…
